The Sioux Falls Arts Commission and Visual Arts Committee are excited to announce a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for a community-driven mural project at the historic Orpheum Theatre in downtown Sioux Falls. Please share with artists and designers that would be interested in facilitating an exciting, community-focused, public art project this summer and fall. If your organization shares local arts opportunities, please help spread the word by posting the details.

This project is a special opportunity for local and regional artists and designers to create a vibrant mural that will turn the Orpheum Theatre’s historic north-facing wall into a community landmark and backdrop for outdoor performances. Artists are invited to lead a creative process that engages local youth and arts groups, using storytelling and collaboration to shape a final design which will be executed as a digitally produced vinyl wrap that protects the building’s historic facade. The final design will serve as a celebration of the Orpheum’s performing and visual arts history and the diverse artistic spirit of Sioux Falls.
