RAPID CITY, SD — The Rapid City Arts Council is proud to introduce the Teen Art Studio – a cutting-edge initiative designed to cultivate the talents of young and budding visual artists. Nestled within the Dahl Arts Center, this dedicated studio is an invitation to all teens in Rapid City who take a strong interest in art and seek to forge meaningful connections in the art community.
The Teen Art Studio program has been conceptualized to:
– Empower: Elevate the aspirations of creative middle and high school students, enabling them to expand their artistic experience and grow as responsible citizens.
– Educate: Offer insights and expertise through interactions with professional teaching artists.
– Engage: Foster a community-driven approach by involving student interns, handpicked by leading arts educators, to shape the studio’s direction and culture.
What the Teen Art Studio Offers:
– Exploration: Ample studio space stocked with diverse art supplies to stimulate creativity.
– Expertise: Regular workshops facilitated by teaching artists from the professional world.
– Environment: A vibrant and nurturing atmosphere for students to dive deep into their art alongside peers who share their passion.
– Exposure: Unique chances to immerse in the local arts scene, collaborate on projects, take on leadership roles, and exhibit their artwork.
