The Compassionate Outreach Group (COG) and the South Dakota Prison Information Network (SPIN) are looking to connect with South Dakota Artists wo my abe interested in participating in our video podcast series, Bridging the Divide Through Creativity.
This unique program is shot and produced by incarcerated individual for an incarcerated audience, offering a rare platform where creativity becomes a bridge between lived experiences. Each episode features artists, poets, and creative practitioners from across the state who share their work and personal stories. By highlighting the transformative power of artistic expression, the podcast fosters healing, understanding, and personal growth – both behind prison walls and within the broader community.
Because the podcast is created within the correctional system, its impact is especially meaningful. Episodes have the ability to reach and inspire incarcerated individuals across the entire state, offering hope, connection and and sense of possibility through the voices of South Dakota’s creative community.
To participate, interested artists will need to email Tammy Mertens-Jones, the Cultural Activities Coordinator, to begin the on-boarding process.

All guests are required to complete a background check before we can schedule the filming of their episode. Once Tammy is contacted, we will send a welcome packet that outlines the program in great details and provide next steps.
