3rd Annual John Enke Memorial 5K Run/Walk & Shining Through the Shadow Art Show
A suicide prevention & awareness event held by SDSU Student Clinic and Counseling Services and HEROH at McCrory Gardens in Brookings, SD. Join us in our fight for suicide prevention and awareness and participate in this 5K run/walk honoring the life of SDSU alumni John Enke!
We encourage submissions that: Encapsulate the feelings and experiences related to losing a loved one to suicide, managing one’s own mental struggles, and the things that give life hope and meaning after loss. As well as submissions that honor those lost and ignite conversation around suicide.
All mediums welcome (any form of traditional or digital art including paint on canvas, sculpture, photography, collage, fiber art, or written word). Apply now with the linked application [HERE]!

- This event will begin at McCrory Gardens at 9 AM with an art exhibition and coffee hour intended to spark discussion around suicide prevention and awareness.
- Following the beginning of the exhibition at approximately 9:30AM, we will begin the 5K run/walk. The route will start and end at McCrory Gardens.
