Call for Artworks Submission Deadline: OCTOBER 14, 2025
Total Budget: $132,000
Project Description
The University of Nebraska Lincoln is seeking existing 2D artworks for direct purchase to be displayed in the new Westbrook Music Building. The Westbrook Music Building, part of UNL’s Hixson-Lied College of Fine & Performing Arts, is a state-of-the-art facility for the Glenn Korff School of Music. This professional, comprehensive arts institution is dedicated to advancing music and dance, preparing future arts professionals, and serving the arts community with key values that are collaborative, inclusive, and creative. The new building will house rehearsal rooms, practice rooms, a library, a performance space, classrooms, and faculty offices/studios.
The Committee is looking for works that have a conceptual connection to the Glenn Korff School of Music’s mission and values. The school is devoted to the advancement of music and dance, the preparation of future arts professionals, and service to the arts professions/institutions, holding key values such as being collaborative, inclusive, and creative. Artists should explain this connection in their letter of interest.
The number of works that are purchased depends on the price for each piece; only submit works priced between $1,000 and $20,000. The Committee will have full discretion over which pieces will be purchased and their locations within the building. If applicable, list any sites that may be ideal for the submitted work in the Letter of Interest, based on the site plans below. The potential sites are shown in purple.
