The Choral Director Institute (CDI) offers professional development for all music teachers Pre-K through 12th grade.
The Choral Director Institute (CDI) is an extensive and focused program designed to introduce choral music educators to the best in current and standard literature in addition to teaching methods and materials. The ONLINE institute will include new choral literature sessions, master classes and clinic sessions that focus on a wide variety of teaching subjects for choir directors.
The headline clinician will be Dr. Lee Nelson. Dr. Nelson holds the Patricia R. Zahn Chair in choral conducting and serves as the director of choral activities at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. Nelson conducts the Wartburg Choir and Ritterchor (tenor/bass choir) and teaches choral literature, beginning conducting and advanced conducting courses at Wartburg College. He also serves as the artistic director of Christmas with Wartburg. Wartburg College recognized Nelson’s work as an educator by awarding him the John O. Chellevold Award for Excellence in Teaching and Service.
CDI is offered for up to three graduate or recertification (CEU) credits.
