ARTS SOUTH DAKOTA UPCOMING EVENTS

About the Artist Duane Kjelden grew up in eastern South Dakota. His early years were spent on a farm which led to a love of nature. Later in life, he developed an interest in woodworking. The annual Christmas at the Capitol display in Pierre includes nearly 100 trees that are decorated by volunteers from communities, schools, churches, nonprofit organizations and state government offices. Expect the unexpected when a surprising new art exhibit opens in Lead. “Art About Art” is the first show exclusively featuring work by members of Black Hills Post-Naturalist Art Movement. Located on the Missouri River, Waterfront Gallery in Pierre, SD, opens to the public every Wednesday and by appointment. Davida Art Collective is hosting the Vermillion Cultural Association's third annual Holiday Pop-Up Shop in the First Dakota Coyote Gallery in Vermillion. The shop features goods and gifts handmade by a curated group of local artisans and crafters. A percentage of all sales benefits arts programming at the Vermillion Cultural Association.
