I’m reaching out from Bell Cow Productions because we think your readers, members, students, or writers may be interested in a new literary award we’re sharing with the writing community.
Bell Cow Productions is a Minnesota-based literary organization built to help connect authors with readers, bookstores, libraries, and the wider literary ecosystem. Through our podcasts, author resources, digital catalog, and community outreach, we work to make it easier for writers to find audiences and for readers to discover new voices.
And now we’re spreading our pasture into the greater midwest, and introducing a literary prize for anyone in the US and Canada.
We’re now accepting submissions for The Moriarty Award, a literary prize dedicated to one of fiction’s most essential elements: the antagonist.
The Moriarty Award recognizes a memorable, compelling, sharply drawn antagonist in a published work of fiction. Villains, rivals, masterminds, charming troublemakers, institutional forces, morally complicated opponents, and beautifully written bad influences are all welcome. The winning author will receive a $500 cash prize.
This may be a good fit for writers in your community, especially fiction authors with books that feature a standout antagonist. Full eligibility, submission details, deadlines, and award information are available here:
