Sioux Falls will host 2024 State Arts Conference

South Dakota artists, arts advocates, arts organization members, art lovers and community leaders will gather in downtown Sioux Falls for the 2024 State Arts Conference June 7-8 at the Washington Pavilion. The conference, sponsored by the South Dakota Arts Council and Arts South Dakota, features presentations from Randy Cohen, VP of Research, Americans for the Arts; Oglala Lakota Artist Laureate Keith BraveHeart; and Janet Brown, Past president/CEO of Grantmakers in the Arts and Nonprofit Arts Consultant.

The 2024 State Arts Conference will be a place to learn and network with others who share a connection to South Dakota’s cultural community. A variety of practical sessions will be offered during the conference, with opportunities to acquire new skills to impact the arts in communities throughout the state. This year, the Arts Leadership Institute pre-conference will occur before the State Arts Conference.

The conference includes workshops, panels, creative excursions, performances, networking opportunities and a Friday night opening reception with music at Levitt Sioux Falls! “The sessions were chosen to provide inspiration to artists, arts advocates, community arts volunteers and our statewide arts organizations,” said conference coordinator Shari Kosel. “There’s truly something for everyone—experiences that our statewide arts community can use to chart a pathway to even greater success.”
