South Dakota’s Youth Art Month will be held virtually in March of 2025 with a wonderful prize package from Blick Art Materials.
The Youth Art Month flag competition entries should be entered virtually. Entry form is attached. Permission form is only necessary for the winning design. The form can also be accessed at the following link. Please read theme and design requirements on the form. There are no grade divisions, so ALL flag entries need to be placed in the flag folder. The winning design will be made into a flag and hung at the national convention. Afterwards it will become the property of the winning designer, and/or their school. The winning flag design will also receive a $100 Blick gift certificate. The teacher of the winning design will receive a $400 Blick certificate.

Place only one entry per student in the appropriate folder for either elementary (k-5) middle (6-8) or high school (9-12). Each division winner will receive a $100 Blick certificate with the teacher receiving a $200 certificate. The overall winner for k – 12 will receive a $200 Blick certificate with the teacher receiving a $400 Blick certificate.
The top 10-12 pieces will be printed and hung in Minneapolis, MN at the National Art Education Association conference in April. All entries will also be put into a PowerPoint that will be shared on social media.
All entries should be completed and uploaded to the attached link no later than February 21, 2024. It is the teacher’s responsibility to place entries in the correct folder. NOTE: flag entries are k-12 which is one folder.
Again, thank you for all you are doing. We look forward to seeing the amazing student work.
