The next application cycle of Jazz Road Tours and Creative Residencies, a national program of South Arts, are both opening on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
Here are some details:

  •  Jazz Road Tours support jazz music tours at an array of venue types, often in rural communities and other areas traditionally underserved by the genre. This artist-centric grant program is designed to support approximately 50 tours each year. Jazz Road Tours offer grants of up to $15,000 to develop tours into communities across the country. Applications open Jan 15 for tours occurring July 1, 2025 – January 1, 2026. The deadline to apply is March 5, 2025, with additional deadlines occurring regularly through 2026. Learn more here.
  • Jazz Road Creative Residencies is an artist-centric program that responds to what artists have called for while promoting flexibility for how “residency” can be defined. Artists have expressed their need for time and resources to drive new creative visions, explore collaborations; and connect their music to communities in socially relevant and lasting ways. Support in these areas is viewed as crucial for musicians to reach new artistic and professional heights while building jazz partnerships and audiences throughout the US. Grant amounts are up to $40,000. Grants are awarded directly to artists. The application deadline is April 2, 2025. The grant period is July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026. Learn more here.
