The Matthews Opera House & Arts Center, located in the heart of Spearfish, SD, is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Arts Operations Specialist to join our team. This position is vital to ensuring The Matthews operates seamlessly, providing the community with inspiring artistic and cultural experiences.
About the Role
As the Arts Operations Specialist, you’ll handle the day-to-day operations, coordinate events and programming, and ensure our historic space remains welcoming and functional. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on logistics, loves working with people, and is passionate about the arts.
What You’ll Do:
- Facility & Event Operations: Manage facility readiness, oversee events, and coordinate volunteers.
- Program Support: Work with partners, educators, and artists to execute outstanding programs.
- Administrative Tasks: Track payments, manage donor benefits, and support daily operations.
- Marketing & Engagement: Maintain the website, update social media, and share press releases.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 2+ years in event management, logistics, or operations, ideally in the arts or nonprofit sector.
- Skills: Strong organization, communication, and multitasking abilities.
