As we prepare for the promise of spring, the Historic Homestake Opera House Society is seeking nominations for candidates to fill the three upcoming vacancies on the Board of Directors for which the Board members will vote prior to the June 12, 2025 meeting. Therefore, I am writing to encourage you to consider entering this process by putting your name forward for nomination or by identifying and nominating people who might be uniquely qualified to help us build into the future of this Jewel of the Black Hills. Please note: any Homestake Opera House member is eligible to serve and is welcome to apply, but membership is required of all persons serving on the Board.* Particular strengths in the areas of law, legislature, business-2-business, fundraising/capital campaign, construction, and/or real estate/property management are currently sought, but not necessary for nominating.
To nominate yourself or another individual to our Board of Directors please review the Board of Director’s roles and responsibilities (see link below**), complete the Potential Board Member Information form (see printable form link below***), and return it to the HOH office either by replying to this email, by mail (PO Box 412, Lead, SD 57754), or in person no later than April 6, 2025. Nominees will be asked to participate in a vetting process to become better acquainted with HOH and to ensure that we continue to build on the strengths of the organization as a whole.
