About the Awards
Take a stroll around any city in the country and you’ll see ordinary walls being transformed into incredible works of public art. To honor this flourishing branch of the contemporary art world, the National Mural Awards was founded in 2023 to honor and recognize the best examples of mural art all over the nation.
Since its inception, the National Mural Awards has grown from awarding prizes for individual artists that excel in creating public art, but also recognition of groups and organizations using murals as a way to transform communities and revitalize neighborhoods. The 2024 edition of the National Mural Awards will be hosted in Corpus Christi, Texas. Applications for both the community and artist awards will open in early 2024. Information about the host city and the proposed schedule of events can be found HERE.
