WHO: Come one, Come all enjoy our Community this Fall!

WHAT: Theater Running in Place

WHERE: In the Matthews Opera House Theater.

WHEN: September 15, 2:00 pm

WHY: Community, Connection, and Creativity? Why NOT?

Our special matinee performance of “Theater Running in Place” presents all the fun and variety of Theater on the Run in a single venue: the Matthews Opera House Theater. Our actors will perform a series of five playlets on the Matthews stage with appetizers available between each show in the fireplace room.

   A sporting chance:

Ticket sales begin on August 15 at 10 am. This will be strictly enforced. Tickets sell out quickly and we want to ensure every patron has an equal opportunity to get theirs.

  A little advice for groups:

If attending the performance with a group, we recommend purchasing all tickets in one transaction to ensure seats are available to accommodate the entire party. If you must purchase them separately, please pay careful attention to your “starting” location to make sure the whole party “starts their run” in the same venue. Due to seating limitations, we are unable to make changes once your purchase is complete.

THE SHOWS THAT WILL HAVE US ON OUR TOES

“ALMOST MAIN” by John Cariani Directors: Charlotte Fladmoe, Matt Woodard, Cami Dohman, Lisa Myhre, Shirlene Joseph

A woman carries her heart, broken into nineteen pieces, in a small paper bag. A man shrinks to half his former size, after losing hope in love. A couple keep the love they have given each other in large red bags, or compress the mass into the size of a diamond. These playful and surreal experiences are commonplace in the world of John Cariani’s Almost, Maine, where on one deeply cold and magical Midwinter Night, the citizens of Almost — not organized enough for a town, too populated for a wilderness — experience the life-altering power of the human heart. Relationships end, begin, or change beyond recognition, as strangers become friends, friends become lovers, and lovers turn into strangers. Propelled by the mystical energy of the aurora borealis and populated with characters who are humorous, plain-spoken, thoughtful, and sincere, Almost, Maine is a series of loosely connected tales about love, each with a compelling couple at its center, each with its own touch of sorcery.
