All are invited to come together at 2pm on Sunday, September 29th at the Dakota Theatre (328 Walnut Street, Yankton, SD), for an inspiring story-telling event.  Connecting Cultures is sponsoring the debut of the short documentary film, ‘Portraits of Courage’ produced and presented by South Dakota Voices For Peace. The 30-minute film will be followed by an engaging panel discussion between the audience, cast and producers.  The film shares the uplifting stories of three community elders and how their resilience in the face challenges, encountered with mainstream population due to differing beliefs and customs, has brought them to a place of healing and belonging. Admission is free of charge and open to all.  Attendees are welcome to offer their support and make an impact on future welcoming initiatives.
