This event features a presentation by Sioux Falls author, Achut Deng, a refugee from South Sudan.  Her gripping autobiography Don’t Look Back tells her harrowing story that began in early childhood during the civil war in Sudan, and how she survived and eventually made her way to Sioux Falls.  A panel discussion follows, with Dr. Michael Mullin from the Augustana history department moderating, as panelists share personal or vicarious experiences as refugees or migrants.
