Join us for an insightful webinar exploring the challenges and opportunities faced by Deaf and disabled artists, creatives, and culture bearers in the creative sector. This session will feature a dynamic conversation about building effective support systems for working artists, emphasizing practical strategies and innovative research. – Kevin Gotkin is an access ecologist, teacher, scholar, and Artist-Organizer for Creatives Rebuild New York. Kevin’s presentation will focus on structural barriers and possibilities facing artists with disabilities, drawing from their Deaf and Disabled Employment Artist study. Attendees will learn about approaches to building sustainable, inclusive, and equitable support systems for creative professionals. – Antoine Hunter is an award-winning, internationally recognized Black, Indigenous, Deaf, and Disabled choreographer, dancer, actor, instructor, speaker, producer, and Deaf advocate. Their presentation will offer a firsthand perspective on navigating the world of performance and creative expression as a Deaf artist, highlighting systemic barriers and the often-overlooked contributions of this community. – Sidney Mori Garrett is a curator, artist, and Director of Programs at 3Arts. Together with visual artist Reveca Torres who has received direct support from 3Arts, Sidney’s presentation will explore how the organization fosters an environment where artists can take risks, experiment, and build long-term career momentum—empowering them to thrive in both their creative and professional journeys. Whether you’re an artist, an arts administrator, or an advocate for inclusion, you will gain valuable insights into the current landscape and discover ways to collectively create more accessible, equitable, and supportive environments where all artists can thrive.
