OVERVIEW
Each spring the South Dakota Humanities Council (SDHC) has a unique, non-competitive NEH supported grant opportunity. In order to learn which organizations may be qualified to carry out such a special program, we are soliciting statements of qualifications from interested non-profit and appropriate tax-exempt organizations.

The $15,000 Teachers Institute grant is a special initiative focused on delivering a professional development course on Native American history and culture for elementary/secondary school teachers and the public across South Dakota. The grant monies are to be used to fund one Teachers Institute in our state that will improve the quality of education by bringing K-12 teachers and humanities scholars together. This grant can be awarded in conjunction with another open SDHC grant.
