Exhibition Titled: New Native Art from the Plains
Dates: July 24 – October 21, 2023
Call: New artwork from Native Americans based in the Northern Plains

The Center for Western Studies is seeking artwork for an upcoming exhibition titled “New Native Art from the Plains”. This exhibition will be held in the Elmen, Madsen, Nelson galleries at the Center from July 29, 2023 – October 21, 2023. Regional Native artists are invited to submit up to ve works for consideration to be displayed in the juried CWS gallery exhibition. Artwork submitted for consideration can be in any medium.

Artists interested in exhibiting works in this exhibition must complete the attached form, which includes the title(s), dimensions, price(s) (if for sale), and an example image of the work(s). Please submit the form and example images(s) to Education Assistant Kamryn Miller, Center for Western Studies, 2001 S. Summit Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57197, kamryn.miller@augie.edu no later than Friday June 30, 2023.

Artists will be notified of exhibit acceptance on or before July 7, 2023.

Timeline:

June 30th, 2023: The application window closes at midnight.
June 30th – July 7th, 2023: Selection process will take place by The Center for Western Studies Art Committee.
July 7th, 2023: Notification of accepted work
July 7th- July 22nd, 2023: Accepted work(s) needs to be dropped o or delivered to 2121 S. Summit Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57105. Artist responsible for shipping costs.
July 24th, 2023: Exhibition Opened
TBD – Artists Reception
October 20th, 2023: Exhibition Closes
October 23rd: Artists Pick-up Art works.
