Call for Artist Collaborators
DakotAbilities knows that people with disabilities are valuable members of their communities. When the world sees ability before disability, it becomes a better place for everyone. That’s why we’re offering an opportunity for Sioux Falls artists to work alongside people supported to create collaborative artwork in a project called CreateAbility.
Summary
Work alongside artists supported by DakotAbilities to create artwork collaboratively.
- Artist stipend is $300
- Additional supplies reimbursement of $150
- Artists will receive specialized training in working alongside artists supported by DakotAbilities
- Each artist will work with 2 people supported for 3 one-hour sessions weekday mornings at Longfellow Center (1116 S 4th Avenue, Sioux Falls)
- Artists will work alongside people supported to create collaborative work.
- During process, artist will share information about their creative process and product and the “why” behind their work
- Submit all requested information to jennifer.hoesing@dakotabilities.org
- Following a gallery show, all artwork created will belong to the artist supported by DakotAbilities
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to individual visual artists (2D or 3D mediums)
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
- Applicants must have demonstrated experience in the arts through the creation of high-quality visual art
