Natural Dyes on Fiber…come experience the wonderful range of colors in the

natural dye world. From the pinks/reds of cochineal, purples of logwood, vibrant yellows to greens of weld and other colors experience the do’s and don’ts of natural dyeing. We mix and start the pots together so you can learn the process. Because these natural dyes require mordants beforehand, the instructor will bring samples of cotton/silk/linen fabrics and wool skeins to dye. A final project will be a choice of cotton fat quarter/ cotton apron, silk scarf or skein of wool yarn. (Please don’t bring extra pieces for the final project unless the instructor is consulted and says ok since mordanting will need to be on your own prior to class). An indigo pot will be available from prior days class to get interesting color shift with a dip in indigo.
