Henry’s Books is a crowdfunded bookstore coming soon to the heart of Spearfish, SD owned by Spearfish locals, Lizzie and Dylan Mattson. Henry’s Books will be a community minded literary space with a mission to offer a comfortable, high-quality book buying experience, fostering a deep connection with literature and leaving you eager to return for that unmistakable “new book smell” time and again.

Not only are we providing a unique book-buying experience, our journey to opening the doors is just as unique. Our main source of funding for the bookstore will be through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. By allowing the community to tangibly take part in bringing this business to life, we give people the opportunity to take ownership in a space that would otherwise be unattainable to them.

We have 30 days to raise $45k through our Kickstarter campaign. If we hit our goal, we will be fully funded and can open the store very quickly, if we don’t hit our goal, we receive nothing and sponsors will not be charged.

how to donate: choose your desired sponsorship options, kickstarter calls them “rewards”–options range from $25 through $10k and cover a variety of items like tables, shelves, plants, genres, and of course books. Out of all our sponsorship options, the option we hope resonates with the most people is the book sponsorship. We deeply desire to see as many people as possible sponsor their favorite book or the favorite book of a loved one.
