If you have been to one of our events at Grandview Gallery near Okaton, SD, you have probably noticed the progress on this 1911 former school house from Grandview Township in Jones County.

Grandview Gallery has hosted a yearly open house for Cristen Joy Photography the past three years. New in 2023 saw a spring concert featuring a local musician and elementary student’s poetry, and a photography class. Each event has been well attended and wonderful moments of experiencing meaningful art on the prairie as we work to restore and preserve Grandview Gallery for future generations.

2023 saw a foundation, siding and windows added. All funded by generous patrons eager to see this historic building live on!

A new roof is the next phase and we have raised 30% of our roofing costs (including labor)!

Cristen J. Roghair of Cristen Joy Photography is crocheting from her years of knowledge, a beautiful blanket to be raffled on March 1st to help raise funds for the roofing costs. The color was inspired by the colors of the sky in the photograph shown, Grand Sunrise.

Winner will be selected on March 2nd. Delivery or shipping will be paid for by Cristen Joy Photography and will be arranged with the winner after March 2nd.
