About the Cemetery Walk…
Actors dressed in period-appropriate costumes will resurrect early settlers graveside, presenting their personal stories of antics and heroics. Try your hand at characters like the “76ers,” persons who came to the Black Hills during the gold rush, one of which who unknowingly shared his campfire beans and flapjacks with the legendary Calamity Jane. Or, become the first person buried at Rose Hill Cemetery, the retiring blacksmith that became the first Spearfish postmaster, or “Samson of the Black Hills” whose Herculean efforts completed the large stone barn still standing on Red Water Road. These characters and more will delight both adults and children.
