Monday, Oct. 9: Native Americans’ Day at Crazy Horse Memorial. The official ceremony is at 10 am, and Pamyua is performing at 12:30 1:30 & 4:30. Crazy Horse serves free buffalo stew during this event!

  • Katie Orton from Arts Midwest will be here Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and a film crew is assigned to the group while they’re here.

Tuesday, Oct. 10:  Children’s Home Society morning and Hermosa schools in the afternoon. The Children’s Home Society is a really special event and if you can make it as a representative of the arts council it’s really worth the trip. It will impact your life.

Wednesday, Oct. 11: Custer Elementary at 9:00 am; lunch with CAAC; Custer High School at 1 pm.

  • 6 pm FREE reception at the Beacon. This is going to be exceptional. There will be representatives from South Dakota Arts Council, Arts Midwest, Crazy Horse Memorial and local arts councils. There is going to be a facilitated conversation with members of the band. Conor McMahon is a museum curator out of Rapid City and will be our facilitator/moderator.

Thursday, Oct. 12:  Hot springs schools in the morning; lunch with CCABH and SDAC;  2 pm concert at MJF SD Veteran’s Home.

Friday: DAY OFF Dave’s World Tours will take the band around for some fun and a day off.

Saturday, Oct. 14: FREE Public concert at 3:00 p.m. at the High School Theater in Custer. 6 pm dinner at Custer Wolf.

  • The JAS Quintet is playing at the Beacon that evening. That quintet includes Jimmy Speirs and Andrew Reinartz of Arts South Dakota!
