The Urbandale Art Park was established as a permanent outdoor sculpture park with annually changing exhibits. The Art Park is located at 3600 86th Street, just south of Douglas Avenue and the Urbandale City Hall.
The Urbandale Public Art Committee will oversee the selection of 4 sculptures which will be displayed in the Urbandale Art Park for an annual exhibition during 2024-2025.
Selected artists will receive a $2,000 stipend for loaning the work for the exhibition time period. There is no application fee.
The exhibited artwork must be the original work of the artist (in concept and execution) and available for purchase. The advertised sale price should include a 25% commission that the Urbandale Public Art Committee will retain on pieces sold in the exhibit year.
The sculpture must be able to be bolted to a 3’x 3’ steel pad. It must be suitable for year-round outdoor public display and constructed in a manner which will not cause safety or liability problems, or maintenance, during the exhibition period. The artwork shall remain for the duration of the exhibition period even if it is sold. The Artist shall be responsible for all costs, equipment and labor necessary for the delivery, installation and removal of the artwork.
