Exhibition Titled: 30 Under 30(ish): A Celebration of Young Artists
Dates: November 13th, 2023 – February 23rd, 2024
Call: Artwork from regional artists 30(ish) years of age or younger
The Center for Western Studies is seeking artwork for an upcoming exhibition titled “30 under 30: A Celebration of Young Artists”. This exhibition will be held in the Elmen, Madsen, Nelson galleries at the Center from November 13th – February 23rd, 2023. Regional artists under the age of 30(ish) are invited to submit up to ve works for consideration to be displayed in the juried CWS gallery exhibition. Artwork submitted for consideration can be in any medium.
Artists interested in exhibiting works in this exhibition must complete the attached form, which includes the title(s), dimensions, price(s) (if for sale), and an example image of the work(s). Please submit the form and example images(s) to Education Assistant Kamryn Miller, Center for Western Studies, 2001 S. Summit Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57197, kamryn.miller@augie.edu no later than Friday October 20th, 2023.
Artists will be notified of exhibit acceptance on or before October 27th, 2023.
Timeline:
October 20th, 2023: The application window closes at midnight.
October 20th – October 27th, 2023: Selection process will take place by The Center for Western Studies Art Committee.
October 27th, 2023: Notification of accepted work
October 27th- November 8th, 2023: Accepted work(s) needs to be dropped o or delivered to 2121 S. Summit Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57105. Artist responsible for shipping costs.
November 13th, 2023: Exhibition Opens
TBD – Artists Reception
February 23rd, 2024: Exhibition Closes
February 26th, 2024: Artists Pick-up Art works.
*Additional arrangements can be made for shipping artwork back to artist following the show if you are unable to pick up your artwork
ELIGIBILITY
All work must be original, unsold work, and the artist must own the sole copyright to art. Frames, mats and wiring must be professional quality and in good condition. No saw-tooth hangers. Wiring must be securely fashioned and support the weight of the artwork. 2D artwork selected for exhibition MUST BE READY TO HANG.
Shipping and Delivery: Accepted work may be hand delivered or shipped prepaid to arrive no later than July 22nd, 2023. Artists are also responsible for return shipping costs.
FEES & SALES
Accepted art will be displayed as submitted and artists have the option of selling their work. Please include price when submitting art for sale. All exhibit sales will be handled through the CWS gift shop, and a 30% commission will be collected from the sale price by CWS for all pieces sold as a result of the exhibition. Please price artwork with that commission deduction in mind. All scheduling, freight cots, and delivery/pick-up charges will be the responsibility of the artist.
DELIVERY OF ARTWORK
If accepted for the show, works can be delivered directly to the Center for Western Studies, 2121 S. Summit Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57197, during regular business hours, Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. Special arrangements can be made if those times won’t work. Works can also be shipped to:

All works must arrive at the Center for Western Studies no later than November 8th, 2023. Works can be accepted earlier and stored for the exhibition.
All artwork must arrive ready to be displayed.
