Earth Day’s 50th Anniversary on April 22nd 2020 will be celebrated by millions of people in over 190 countries.  Because the arts are so vital to the environmental movement, we created Artists for the Earthtm, our campaign to bring the arts to the forefront – highlighting the work of artists who focus on the natural world and climate change.

Artists for the Earth has initiated a new outreach that will be welcomed by artists and all creative entities from every constituency across The State of South Dakota.  Artists and arts organizations can register their performances, programs, projects or events connected to the environment throughout the year 2020 on our Gallery, Map, and Calendar pages including pictures or logos as well as web addresses, statements and other information.  The Registration Form is found on our main Artists for the Earth page.  (See links below.)

The Artists for the Earth platform will give your members who are concerned about world high visibility through Earth Day’s wide-reaching global network as well as a way to connect to the movement and become a part of our hope for the future.

As you know, the arts strive to attract and engage audiences in meaningful ways. Nothing could be more meaningful than the environment and climate change, especially to the young.  The arts communicate in ways that science alone cannot – touching emotions and making the subject of climate change personal.  They bring people together in community across cultures, reminding them of their shared humanity, their connection to the earth, conveying a sense of wonder and inspiring the will to change.
