The Polk County Conservation Public Art Committee (PCCPAC) invites artists to submit proposals for future projects at Easter Lake and Jester Parks. Over the last decade, Polk County Conservation has expanded public art throughout their park system. Today, park visitors can experience a myriad of art that educates, inspires, informs and arouses their curiosity about our natural world. Both projects are seeking proposals for the design, fabrication, and installation of artwork for permanent outdoor placement.

Jester Park’s project is located at the Lower Playscape in Jester Park.  Currently, there is a piece of ephemeral art in this location that has reached its lifespan. The PCCPAC would like to replace the current piece with a permanent piece that can be seen from the upper playscape, and entice families to explore the park further to this destination.

Easter Lake’s piece will be located at the Athene North Shore Recreation Area at Easter Lake Park. The Athene North Shore Recreation Area will be a unique amenity in Polk County. It was conceived and developed with the singular goal of creating the most universally designed, accessible park in the country. This will be a true hub of activity, bringing together people of all ages and abilities to swim, fish, boat and simply play on their own terms. This new art piece will celebrate the dedication Doug Romig had to this project.
