The NSU Art Department is hosting the 26th Annual High School Workshop Day on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. The workshop day is designed to allow ten of your most outstanding and deserving students the opportunity to visit campus and take part in workshops presented by the NSU faculty. Workshops will be presented in a variety of media including drawing, mixed media collage, ceramics, darkroom photography, and digital media. All materials will be provided and attendance is free! The 26th Annual NSU High School Art Invitational Exhibition will be held in the Student Center Gallery October 21- October 29, 2019. Online registration is open until October 16, 2019 at https://northern.formstack.com/forms/artworkshopregistration. Art exhibition entries need to be delivered by Wednesday, October 16, 2019. Awards will be given to the top 3 places as well as certificates for honorable mention. We will take down the artwork following the awards ceremony at the High School Workshop on October 29, 2019.
The NSU School of Fine Arts Invitational will be held February 21-22, 2020. Students will be able to visit campus and apply for scholarship awards to the NSU Art Department. Sign up for an art portfolio review by visitinghttp://www.northern.edu/academics/school-fine-arts/fine-arts-scholarships.
Northern State University along with Arts South Dakota will be hosting the 2020 Arts Education Institute on the NSU campusJuly 13-16, 2020. There will be professional development opportunities for all educators and administrators to receive renewal, CTE, undergraduate and graduate credit.
