The National Folklife Network (NFN) seeks writers (ages 13-22) to participate in documenting local cultural traditions and folklife. The NFN is a network of artists, culture bearers and folklorists who strengthen our communities through nurturing folk and traditional arts. We want to hear from you about cultural traditions in your community. This is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts.

YOUR WRITING PROMPTS (500 words):

STIPEND: $350

SCHEDULE:
January 28: Application due
February 1: Notification to applicants
February 12: Folklife workshop 3-4:30 PM ET on Zoom (mandatory)
March 11: Writing Due
March 18: Comments returned to writer
March 25: Final draft due to editorial team
TBD: Publishing party (via Zoom) ) for writers, friends and family!

Your work will be featured by the National Endowment for the Arts on the National Folklife Network website (launching in Spring 2022)
