Marking Lives COVID 19” is a collaborative national community art project conceived by Massachusetts visual artist Elizabeth Awalt. Born from a desire to acknowledge and commemorate lives lost in the U.S. to the COVID 19 pandemic, Awalt invites artists and community members to make 1,000 marks of any kind to create original artworks in the medium of his/her/their choice. Artworks are digitally documented and shared in a collective social media based tribute to lost loved ones. Once “Marking Lives COVID-19 has “marked” the majority of lives lost to COVID-19 in the U.S., it will serve as a memorial to this tragic era, similar to the powerful AIDS Memorial Quilt.

The deadline to submit digital images of your artwork is July 1, 2021.
I’ve attached a one-page flyer with more information about “Marking Lives COVID-19.” Additional information is also found on the artist’s website, facebook and instagram.
