Founded in 1998 by award-winning writer Gordy Hoffman, BlueCat has remained committed to discovering the world’s unknown screenwriters, and continues to showcase their work to a global audience year after year. Every script submission will receive a complimentary written analysis.

BlueCat’s Winners and Finalists have gone on to sign with high-profile agencies, including ICM, CAA and WME. Moreover, their work has been sold to several major studios such as Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros. and Universal.

Additionally, BlueCat writers have won awards at Sundance, Berlin, and Tribeca following their success with BlueCat. As a result, the BlueCat Screenplay Competition has become one of the largest and most prestigious screenplay competitions in the world.

Awards
The Grand Prize Winner will receive $7500.
All scripts submitted (Features, Pilots and Shorts) are eligible.
The Feature Screenplay Winner will receive $3,000.
The Pilot Script Winner will receive $3,000. The Short Script Winner will receive $3,000.
The Fellini Award will be awarded to the Best Screenplay from any category (Feature, Pilots or Short) of the 2024 Competition written by a screenwriter residing outside the USA and will receive $2000.

Early Deadline: August 13th, 2023. Feature $75, Pilot $60, Short $40.
Regular Deadline: September 17th, 2023. Feature $85, Pilot $70, Short $50.
Final Deadline: October 29th, 2023. Feature Screenplay $90, Pilot $75, Short $55.
Late Deadline: December 10th, 2023. Feature $95, Pilot $80, Short $60.
Resubmission Fee by February 18th, 2024. Feature $80, Pilot $65, Short $45.
