RAPID CITY –The new Oyate Health Center is set to open in February. The facility itself is a $130 million project that, when completed will be three times larger than the current building that houses the Oyate Health Center. As part of the construction, there are two opportunities for artists to contribute work.

The GPTLHB would like to support artists living in the Great Plains Area as well as have a direct economic impact on the relatives we serve. Thus, priority will be given to artwork submitted by artists who fall into the three priority categories below:

  1. Enrolled tribal citizens with a federally recognized tribe who live in the Black Hills Area (Rapid City Area/Pennington County).
  2. Enrolled tribal citizens with a federally recognized tribe who live in the Great Plains Area (Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota).
  3. Enrolled tribal citizens with a federally recognized tribe from the Great Plains Area (Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota) who live outside the Great Plains Area.
