The Brookings Arts Council is hosting a call for art and photo contest as part of its 2022 Exhibition Calendar. This year’s theme for the exhibition and contest is images from McCrory Gardens.
McCrory Gardens has over 25 acres of formal display gardens and 45 acres of arboretum featuring hundreds of different flowers, trees, shrubs and grasses in harmonious settings to display, educate and further the development of new varieties.
Photos can be from any season but images must be from the gardens. Works submitted will be on exhibition at the Brookings Arts Council. There are 103 feet of wall space and approximately 1300 square feet of floor space between two galleries. There are a variety of pedestals of various sizes available for use.
During that time patrons can vote on the top 15 submitted which will then move to McCrory Gardens to be featured throughout the facility for 4 additional weeks. The 15 chosen will also be able to sell prints in the gift store at McCrory Gardens if they so choose. Applicants will be notified if they made the top 15 by June 30th, 2022.
There is a $100 prize for the winning photo with the most votes!
Entries must be postmarked or at the Brookings Arts Council no later than June 4th, 2022.
