First Peoples Fund is hosting a virtual 16-week Native Artist Professional Development (NAPD) course at Oglala Lakota Artspace.
The NAPD at OLA course is a value-based, hands-on learning experience designed to enhance Native artists’ business skills and prepare them for their journey as successful artist entrepreneurs. Taught by photographer and business consultant Roxanne L Best (Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation), the course will provide Native artists the tools and support they need to manage small entrepreneurial businesses and grow as culture bearers and community leaders.
This is a free and virtual 16-week course starting on June 15th and 17th and ending in September. There will be two cohorts: One group will meet on Tuesdays from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm MST, and a second group will meet on Thursdays from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm MST. You can register for the cohort that works best for you. Though classes start next week, Registration will remain open until June 29th.
We are excited to present this opportunity, made possible from a grant from the Administration for Native Americans, to take our NAPD trainings to the next level and pilot the curriculum through Oglala Lakota Artspace as a virtual experience.
