Get ready for some smoke and fire! Raku is an exciting, yet unpredictable way to fire pottery. This form of pottery is a process where ceramic ware is removed from a kiln while it is red hot, and placed into easily combustible materials greatly reducing the amount of oxygen around the pot. This gives glazed pots a fantastic variety of colors Spend 4 weeks making creations, one week to glaze, then poof! – fire in an outdoor kiln on the final week to get extraordinary pieces unobtainable from a regular kiln firing.
Please note: Due to surface characteristic from the firing processes, Raku ware is for decorative purposes only, causing it to be unsafe for use with food items. Ages 18 and up.
