Each year, the Rapid City Arts Council selects certain pieces from it’s permanent collection to showcase in an exhibition. This year’s exhibition will focus on those newest pieces that have been generously donated or purchased by RCAC through specified grant money. The RCAC strives to grow and maintain a collection whose primary focus is on work by artists who have lived and worked in our region or exhibited in our galleries. Each piece in our collection holds a unique message and style, offering a historical reference to the diversity of art within the present time. This show is a tribute to the talent and creativity that has existed over the years in this region. We have added thirty new artworks to our collection since it was last exhibited and all of these pieces will be on view when we reopen our Adelstein Gallery this summer. Our most recent gift to be included in this year’s permanent collection show are three original Paul Goble watercolors that were donated by Nancy Boynton Franklin.
