Botanical Printing on Paper, Leather & the Making of Book Structures – September 26-28, 2020
Join Linda Illumanardi for a 3 day workshop beginning with gathering local leaves and printing them on a variety of papers and leather for dazzling effects. Using pre-mordanted paper and a variety of natural modifiers and discharge blankets, students will experience the joy of printing on both paper and leather.
When dry, students will be guided to design a variety of unique book structures, incorporating their own ideas and adding found embellishments from nature. Be ready to play and learn and create new and unconventional structures of your very own!
Students: Please bring an apron, waterproof gloves, any beautiful leaves you wish to print, flowers such as zinnias, dahlias, daisies, chrysanthemums, and something for note taking (journal or tablet).
