Arts and Scraps Workshop at the Days of ’76 Museum

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History, Inc. will host an Arts and Scraps Workshop at the Days of ’76 Museum on Saturday, January 12, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The workshop is $6 for museum members and $11 for non-members. The workshop is suggested for students in grades K-6. Call Amanda Brown, Education Director, at 605-578-1657 for reservations or more information. Reservations are required.

Students are invited to create imaginative works of art using leftover items including paint, fabric, pvc pipe, beads, and more. Activities include any kind of art project a child’s imagination can conjure up, such as picture collages made of construction or tissue paper, aluminum foil art, and yarn dolls. Children will extend their creativity to food by decorating a cookie.  Light refreshments will be provided.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission, Deadwood History, Adams-Mastrovich Family Foundation, Bill Haas, The William Karl and Laura L. Haas Educational Endowment, Black Hills Pioneer, and The Walter and Francis Green Trust.

We inspire the global community by preserving and celebrating the cultural heritage of Deadwood and the Black Hills in the context of the American West through exceptional exhibits, innovative educational programs, and access to extensive collections in unique settings.
