DESCRIPTION:The Lakota Advocacy Center is excited to announce the 2026 Ohunkankan Storytelling Series\, running February 17 – April 21\, 2026. \nThis year’s series is a 10-week gathering held every Tuesday from 6:00–7:30 pm\, featuring four invited speakers who will share their unique approaches\, experiences\, and teachings. Together\, these sessions uplift Lakota knowledge around traditional foods\, medicines\, land stewardship\, and plant sovereignty. Planning and facilitation will be led by LAC Director DeCora Hawk. \nOur previous series drew over 2000 attendees\, highlighting the passion of our community to learn about traditional plants and medicines and to reclaim our responsibility as stewards of our homelands.\n \nWe look forward to gathering with you to share knowledge\, stories\, and teachings that nourish our people and our land.

SUMMARY:LEGO Contest & STEAM Fair
DESCRIPTION:The Lead Deadwood Arts Center will be sponsoring its 22nd Annual Free LEGO Contest on Friday\, April 17\, 2026 at Lead Deadwood High School\, 320 S. Main in Lead. The event is open to all and will be held in conjunction with a STEAM Fair sponsored by the Lead Deadwood Schools. Registration will take place from 6 to 6:30 p.m. with judging beginning at 6:30 p.m. Participants should create a LEGO sculpture at home and enter it in the contest. Judging will be based on creativity and originality\, so the less LEGO kit parts used\, the better. Grade categories will be Pre-K\, 1 & 2\, 3 & 4\, 5 & 6\, 7 & 8\, high school and adults. Awards will be given for the top three in each category. (For easier transport of your sculpture to the high school\, please use the back door of gym on CC Curran Avenue).
