All the favorite songs are in this ‘Enchanted Version” of the well-loved story. The fairytale begins with the decision to give a ball to find a bride for Prince Christopher. Thus\, Cinderella is tasked with making the her stepmother and her two stepsisters beautiful for the ball. Although she can’t go\, Cinderella remains happy and sings the beautiful “In My Own Little Corner” song. In the next scene\, we find the Queen and King arguing about the purpose of the ball\, but the preparations continue. \nCinderella is left alone until her Fairy Godmother appears and with her “fol-de-rol” and “fiddley dee\,” Cinderella is transformed for the ball. “Impossible” become possible. The ball is the ball that everyone remembers from their storybooks\, and soon Cinderella must flee at midnight leaving her slipper for the Prince to find. The Prince sets out to find his love\, but hardly recognizes Cinderella in her sooty clothes and dirty face. She is embarrassed and tries to leave. Will this version end differently? No experience or advance preparation is needed—just enthusiasm and a willingness to participate!\nStudents will take part in a group audition led by professional touring directors\, featuring simple movement\, storytelling\, and ensemble activities designed to help identify roles that best fit each performer. Casting will be announced shortly after auditions\, with rehearsals beginning the same day.\nSelected students will spend the week rehearsing and preparing for a full-stage musical performance. This is a unique opportunity to build confidence\, make new friends\, and be part of a fast-paced theatrical experience from audition to final curtain in just one week. The Matthews Opera House & Arts Center of Spearfish\, SD\, organizes this popular festival. It serves as the largest fundraiser for our non-profit organization each year. The proceeds benefit arts outreach in our community and beyond.\nOver 25\,000 people attend the festival\, held every third weekend in July. The festival features 185 fine art and craft vendors with an emphasis on handmade and original products.\nART & CRAFT VENDORS\, LIVE MUSIC\, FOOD\nOptions from 24 food vendors offer eclectic varieties of cuisines that please any appetite. Free live onstage entertainment from local and regional artists is available daily. For those who want to sit with a cool beverage and listen to music\, the “Watering Hole” never fails to please.\nWHAT IS $5 WRISTBAND NIGHT?\nFriday’s $5 Wristband Night is our largest fundraiser of the year! It is a city ordinance for these 3 days only. Please make plans ahead of time for your pets.\nPARK & RIDE FOR FREE\nPrairie Hills Transit will be providing shuttle service to and from the festival. The shuttle is wheelchair capable. The Spearfish High School parking lot will be used as the park and ride area.
