DESCRIPTION:Experience Grieg in Dialogue\, a richly curated recital featuring Norwegian pianist Oda Voltersvik and members of the Dakota String Quartet and Rawlins Piano Trio. The first half of the program presents piano works by Edvard Grieg\, Agathe Backer Grøndahl\, and Wilhelm Peterson Berger\, highlighting “musical correspondances or similarities in the use of poetic moods and characters” . The second half features the highlight of the evening: the rarely performed Grieg Piano Quintet in B-flat Major\, EG 118\, completed in 2012 by composer Michael Finnissy\, whose contribution includes “a Scherzo: a Halling dance with imitation of music for Hardanger fiddle followed by a slow\, more introverted section” .

Learn core safety and carving fundamentals using one knife\, plus a complete end-to-end project. The atmosphere is relaxed\, fun\, and supportive\, with patient coaching. \nYour registration includes a full personal carving kit to keep:\n• High-quality carving knife\n• Cut-resistant carving glove\n• Finger safety tape\n• Leather strop and stropping compound\n• Carving pattern and basswood for project and practice\n• Pencil\n• Heavy canvas tool roll and a heavy-duty canvas bag \nThe March session is just finishing on Tuesday. The students are having a wonderful time and creating some great carvings. Register early as this class filled quickly for the March Sessions. It will late summer before we have the next classes.

DESCRIPTION:Discover the creative world of wood carving with Steve Hunter. A Toronto\, SD-based carver who has been carving since 1998. This beginner-friendly course is designed both for absolute beginners and for those coming back to carving after a pause. Learn core safety and carving fundamentals using one knife\, plus a complete end-to-end project. The atmosphere is relaxed\, fun\, and supportive\, with patient coaching. \nYour registration includes a full personal carving kit to keep:\n• High-quality carving knife\n• Cut-resistant carving glove\n• Finger safety tape\n• Leather strop and stropping compound\n• Carving pattern and basswood for project and practice\n• Pencil\n• Heavy canvas tool roll and a heavy-duty canvas bag \nThe March session is just finishing on Tuesday. The students are having a wonderful time and creating some great carvings. Register early as this class filled quickly for the March Sessions. It will late summer before we have the next classes.
