In partnership with the Sioux Falls Children’s Choir\, campers will sing as a choir while learning how to blend\, harmonize\, and perform confidently in a group\, all while building strong vocal technique and healthy singing habits. Throughout the camp\, students will rehearse songs in a variety of genres that culminate in a joyful performance for family and friends at the Levitt.  Beyond the music\, Vocal Jam Camp is about having fun\, making new friends\, and discovering how singing together can inspire creativity\, confidence\, and a lifelong love of music. \n Meet the Instructors \n Meet Kaela\n Kaela Schuiteman holds a B.M. in Music Education with honors and endorsements in choral and instrumental music from the University of South Dakota. She currently performs with Transept\, a professional choral ensemble in Sioux Falls\, South Dakota. Previously\, Kaela has performed with the South Dakota Symphony Chorus\, at St. Joseph’s Cathedral as a soloist for weddings and funerals\, and with Vocal Artists of Iowa. Kaela also teaches private voice and piano lessons.\nIn addition to her passion for performing\, Kaela finds immense joy in sharing the unique power of music with students of all ages. Kaela has several years of teaching experience that include K-12 vocal music\, directing musicals\, coaching speech\, and teaching private piano and voice lessons. Prior to starting Music in Me\, Alia worked as a PreK-5th grade music teacher in the Harrisburg School district.\nGrowing up\, Alia sang in the Sioux Falls Girls Chorale for many years. Through that experience\, alongside other musical endeavors\, she became confident that she wanted to spend her life sharing her love for music with the community. In college\, she had an internship with the Vermillion Children’s Choir and the United Church of Christ’s Children’s Choir. She was a four year member of the USD Chamber Singers and has sang with Transept since its inception in 2016. \n Levitt Jam Camp – Vocal Explorers is run in partnership with Augustana University and the Sioux Falls Children’s Choir. \n Thank you to our sponsor of this event: \n Who should sign up for camp?\n The Vocal Explorers camp is ideal for students aged 7-12.
