DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening of this two week art show hosted by Countryside Memory Center of Pierre. Open House reception from 11am to 3pm on Saturday\, April 11. Free refreshments. No admission. Meet the artists and learn more about the OMA Program.\nThe OMA Exhibit will be available at Waterfront Gallery through Wednesday\, April 22.\nGallery hours during this exhibit are Wednesdays and Thursdays 11:00am to 4:00pm\, and Saturdays 11:00am to 2:00pm. You may also schedule a visit most other days by contacting Jen Kanz at 605-220-0364. \nOpening Minds Through Art (OMA) is an art program that pairs participants (the artists) with volunteers (students\, families\, caregivers) who are trained to rely on imagination instead of technique\, focusing on memory and remaining strengths instead of lost skills. This evidence-based program draws on an understanding of dementia and the needs of persons living with dementia.
