Its name reflects its purpose\, a place of honor\, remembrance\, and vision for the future. This new space was created to uplift creativity\, preserve stories and traditions\, and serve as a welcoming gathering place for learning\, connection\, and community for generations to come. \nA LEGACY ROOTED IN HISTORY  \nFormerly known as The Heritage Center at Maȟpíya Lúta\, Čhatkú Arts Center began in 1969 as the Red Cloud Indian Art Show. Today\, the Center continues this legacy through a gift shop featuring the work of more than 300 Native artists\, a renowned collection of nearly 13\,000 pieces of Native art\, a gallery hosting two to three exhibitions each year\, the annual art show\, and much more. \nOUR MISSION  \nČhatkú Arts Center interprets\, honors\, and celebrates the continuum of contemporary artistic expressions of Indigenous people.
