December 5, 2019 – Arts South Dakota and the South Dakota Arts Council will celebrate the 24th biennial Governor’s Awards in the Arts on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at the Ramkota Hotel & Conference Center in Pierre.

We are pleased to announce the recipients of this year’s awards: Dwayne “Chuck” Wilcox, Rapid City, for Distinction in Creative Achievement; Dr. Ronald M. Reed, Rapid City, for Outstanding Support of the Arts by an Individual; John F. The biennial awards presentation banquet honors the achievements of South Dakota’s fine artists and arts leaders. Award winners are selected from nominations submitted in the five categories reflecting the work of professional artists and arts educators, and the support of individuals, businesses and organizations that encompass South Dakota’s arts community.

Festivities will begin with a reception at 5:00 pm on February 12, followed by a banquet honoring the award recipients. Arts highlights include music by the Jim Szana Trio and an exhibit curated by Artists of the Black Hills.
